3 Ahmedabad Schools Receive Bomb Threat Emails; Police Tighten Security, Investigation Underway

3 Ahmedabad Schools Receive Bomb Threat Emails, Police on Alert

Ahmedabad was put on high alert today after emails threatening three city schools led to direct intervention by law enforcement and emergency response units. Concerned parents, students, and school authorities responded promptly, resulting in immediate security operations and a full-scale police investigation.

According to officials, the emails claimed explosive devices were placed within school territory. Local police, bomb disposal teams, and top officials responded immediately to assess the situation. Security cordons were deployed, and all access to the premises was restricted as a precaution.

According to police authorities, students and the staff were either evacuated or closely supervised, depending on the situation at the location. Searching of classrooms, playgrounds, corridors, and so on was carried out in detail by the bomb detection teams. No suspicious objects or explosives have been detected so far, yet the searches are underway to provide total safety.

One of the senior police officers said that the situation is being taken with the utmost seriousness.

“All necessary protocols are being followed. Our priority is the safety of students and school staff. We are investigating the source of the emails and coordinating with cybercrime units to trace the sender,”

the officer said.

The cybercrime department has also been involved in investigating the source of the threat emails. The first evidence points to the emails being delivered by masked or anonymous digital means, which is a common technique in hoax threats. Nonetheless, the authorities made it clear that no presumptions are being drawn at this point and all angles are under consideration.

The police also have enhanced security around the schools and sensitive places in the city to avoid panic and imitation that could take place. Patrols have gone on high alert, and school administrations are encouraged to be very alert and report any suspicious activity directly.

The event has brought panic to parents, with many rushing to schools upon receiving the news about the threats. Officials have asked citizens to remain composed and not to relay rumors that are unverified by the authorities on social media since rumors lead to unnecessary panic.

This is not the first occasion where Indian cities have received bomb threat emails that target the education institutions. Other schools in the country have reportedly been receiving similar threats in the last few years, many of which have resulted in hoaxes. However, security agencies believe that each threat is assumed to be real until proved otherwise.

Education department officials affirmed to always be in contact with police and school management. Depending on the security evaluation, decisions will be made on whether or not schools should close or resume classes. School authorities will inform parents directly about changes.

Police have promised severe consequences for the persons involved upon detection as the investigation goes on. It is hoped that additional evidence will be forthcoming as law enforcement dissects electronic evidence and carries on investigations.
