Red Fort Blast: Delhi Police Arrest Key Suspect Amir Rashid Ali
The Delhi Police Special Cell, in a significant development in the current investigation of the recent Red Fort blast, arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a 28-year-old who is believed to be the key to the planning and execution of the attack. The arrest is a major breakthrough in the cracking of the network of the explosion that rattled one of the most renowned heritage sites in India and plunged the nation into a state of shock.
Ali was caught in a late-night operation in the Jamia Nagar area. This followed several weeks of continuous surveillance, ground intelligence, and technical intelligence. As the case advances, the legal gurus believe that Ali will be officially accused of several articles associated with terrorism, conspiracy, and illegal activities. The case will probably be referred to a specialised anti-terror unit to further investigate, especially when cross-border associations or financial anomalies are detected.
To an extent, the arrest comes as a relief measure to a city that is still coming to terms with the shock of the Red Fort blast, despite the pursuit of remaining suspects taking on a new urgency.
